Becoming a parent is one of life’s greatest adventures — and you don’t have to navigate it alone. The Decatur and Atlanta area is home to a wonderful community of practitioners and educators who specialize in supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early years. This list reflects providers I trust and recommend personally.


Chiropractic Care

Lotus of Life Chiropractic A family-friendly chiropractic and wellness center in the heart of downtown Decatur, specializing in pregnancy and pediatric care. Feeding & Nutrition

Pea Pod Nutrition and Lactation Support A nonprofit organization dedicated to the nutritional health of Georgia families. Pea Pod offers maternal and prenatal nutrition, lactation support, pediatric nutrition, and SOS feeding therapy. They accept most major insurance plans. Atlanta Lactation International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) serving the greater Atlanta area, including Decatur, with home visits, in-office consultations, and telehealth options. They are in-network with most United/UMR plans. Urgent lactation care is also available outside regular hours. Contact: 404-793-3300


Health & Wellness Coaching

LN Health Coaching Lauren Nash is a Certified Health Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, and Certified Pre and Postnatal Coach based in Atlanta. She offers customized programs that balance food, exercise, and overall well-being for each client’s schedule and lifestyle. Free 30-minute virtual consultation available.


Mental Health & Counseling

Aspen Grove Counseling & Wellness A Decatur-based therapy practice with deep expertise in pregnancy and postpartum mental health. Their team includes Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialists (PMH-C). They offer individual therapy, couples counseling, and workshops for new and expectant parents (including the Gottman “Bringing Baby Home” program). Music Therapy

Nurturing Notes Music Therapy Kenya Engram, MMT, LPMT, MT-BC, is a nationally board-certified, licensed music therapist specializing in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support. Services include individual and couples Birth Music Consultations for prenatal preparation and labor support, the Creative Arts Birthing series (an innovative birth prep program integrating visual art, music, movement, and writing), Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth (a clinically designed labor and delivery support method using intentional music programming), and Postpartum Music Therapy for new parents navigating life after birth. Kenya also facilitates Lullabies for Expectant Parents, a free monthly gathering hosted by Music Together of Decatur.


Pelvic Floor Therapy

Renew Pelvic Health A holistic pelvic floor physical therapy practice in Decatur, offering compassionate, trauma-informed care for people of all genders. Joy Lee Photography Joy Lee is a Decatur-based lifestyle photographer specializing in maternity, newborn, and family portraits. Her approach is warm and connection-focused — in-home or on location. As a mama herself with a personal connection to the postpartum experience, she is especially committed to helping new mothers be in the photos, not just behind the camera.


Physical Therapy

Little B Therapy Dr. Katherine Benkeser is a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in pediatric physical therapy for infants and young children — including tongue and lip ties (pre- and post-frenotomy care), torticollis, developmental milestones, and general motor development. Pregnancy, Birth, & Postpartum Doula Support

Doulas of ATL An experienced, inclusive doula team offering birth and postpartum support, childbirth education, lactation support, prenatal yoga, and more. They serve Metro Atlanta and have strong relationships with Emory Decatur Hospital. Contact: 770-653-7754

Into the Wonder Birth Kate is an Atlanta birth doula focused on preparing families to navigate the unknowns of labor and birth with confidence. She specializes in helping people feel empowered, informed, and ready — no matter what unfolds.

Sarah Priore, Postpartum Doula & Infant Care Specialist Sarah (part of the Doulas of ATL team) is a ProDoula-certified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula serving the Atlanta and Decatur area. Her newborn care classes cover swaddling, diapering, infant sleep cycles, feeding options, postpartum healing, and more. Warm, hands-on, and passionate about supporting new families.


Prenatal Education & Community

Lullabies for Expectant Parents A special program for pregnant parents. Babies begin hearing and responding to music in utero, and this class helps you start building your musical relationship before your baby is even born. Located at 308 Clairemont Ave., Decatur. Contact: 678-466-0737

Peri — Atlanta’s Perinatal Community Peri is Atlanta’s perinatal concierge and community, offering an 8-week in-person prenatal course that feels more like a social club than a lecture series. Expert-led sessions cover birth preparation, infant feeding, postpartum planning, relationship transitions, and more — with a real emphasis on building lasting friendships with other soon-to-be parents. They also host Play Circles for families with pre-walking babies.
